Eukaryotic translation elongation factor 1 gamma pseudogene 4 (EEF1GP4) is a human pseudogene located on chromosome 11 and classified as a processed pseudogene of the eukaryotic translation elongation factor 1 gamma gene (EEF1G)[1][3][4]. Pseudogenes are generally non-functional DNA sequences that arise from gene duplication or retrotransposition events of protein-coding genes, in this case EEF1G, and do not produce functional proteins[1]. At present, EEF1GP4 has not been characterized with respect to any biological function or disease association and is not known to contribute to human pathophysiology or therapeutic mechanisms. It is considered primarily as a genomic feature rather than as a functional or druggable target[1][4].
