Eukaryotic translation initiation factor 1 pseudogene 3 (EIF1P3) is a genomic DNA sequence classified as a pseudogene related to the EIF1 gene, which encodes a universally conserved translation factor required for the initiation of protein synthesis and ribosomal scanning[4]. EIF1P3 does not produce a functional protein product and is not known to have a role in translation initiation, cell biology, disease, or as a therapeutic target. There is no evidence supporting any direct involvement of EIF1P3 in human disease or drug response. This distinguishes it from the real EIF1 gene, which is functionally significant in protein synthesis[4].
