Eukaryotic translation initiation factor 1 pseudogene 7 (*EIF1P7*) is a pseudogene located in the human genome that shares sequence similarity with the functional *EIF1* gene, which encodes a critical factor for the initiation of protein synthesis in eukaryotes[2][4]. Unlike the canonical gene, *EIF1P7* does not produce a functional protein and is generally considered non-coding. Pseudogenes like EIF1P7 can arise via duplication or retrotransposition of functional genes. While some pseudogenes may have regulatory roles, there is currently no evidence indicating that EIF1P7 is transcribed or functional, nor is it implicated as a therapeutic target, biomarker, or disease-associated locus.
