Eukaryotic translation initiation factor 3 subunit F pseudogene 1 (EIF3FP1) is a human pseudogene located on the genome. It shares sequence similarity with the protein-coding gene for eukaryotic translation initiation factor 3 subunit F (EIF3F), but it is not known to produce a functional protein. EIF3FP1 is annotated in major gene databases with aliases such as EIF3FP and EIF3S5P. Like other pseudogenes, it is not an established therapeutic target and little is known about its biological function, disease association, or clinical significance. Some pseudogenes can regulate their parental gene or participate in gene expression modulation at the RNA level, but there are no specific data supporting such a role for EIF3FP1.
