Eukaryotic translation initiation factor 4A1 pseudogene 10 (EIF4A1P10) is a human genomic pseudogene derived from eukaryotic translation initiation factor 4A1, an RNA helicase involved in the initiation of translation in eukaryotic cells[1][5][4]. Pseudogenes are generally non-coding DNA sequences arising by duplication or retrotransposition from functional genes; they accumulate mutations and usually do not encode active proteins[6]. Some pseudogenes can have regulatory roles at the RNA level—such as serving as sources of endogenous siRNAs, acting as miRNA sponges, or participating in competing endogenous RNA (ceRNA) networks—but there is no specific evidence to support that EIF4A1P10 acts in this way[6][8]. EIF4A1P10 is not involved in characterized biological processes or disease mechanisms, is not a drug target, nor is it used as a biomarker[1][4][5].
