Pseudogenes arise from gene duplication or retrotransposition events and typically lack regulatory elements for expression or have disabling mutations. There is no evidence in the literature or drug databases of therapeutic relevance, molecular activity, or disease association for EIF4BP3. If a functional relationship is intended, the actual functional protein is eukaryotic translation initiation factor 4B (EIF4B), not its pseudogene.
