Eukaryotic translation initiation factor 4E binding protein 2 pseudogene 1 (EIF4EBP2P1) is a human gene classified as a pseudogene—specifically, a non-coding homolog of the functional EIF4EBP2 gene[1][3][5][6][7][9][11]. Pseudogenes are generally genomic DNA sequences similar to normal genes but are non-functional; they may arise from duplication or retrotransposition events and typically do not code for active proteins[12]. There is currently no evidence that EIF4EBP2P1 has biological activity, therapeutic relevance, or a role as a biomarker, and it is not considered a drug target.
