EXOSC10 antisense RNA 1 (EXOSC10-AS1)

Target
EXOSC10-AS1
Molecular classification
Long noncoding RNA (lncRNA), Noncoding RNA
01

Overview

EXOSC10 antisense RNA 1 (EXOSC10-AS1) is a long noncoding RNA transcribed in the antisense direction relative to the EXOSC10 gene[2][6][8]. There is currently very limited functional information about EXOSC10-AS1 in the published literature or major gene/protein databases. No evidence supports its direct role as a therapeutic target, biomarker, or disease gene. Like other antisense lncRNAs, it may exert gene expression regulatory functions, potentially modulating EXOSC10 mRNA stability or transcription, but no specific biological functions have been experimentally validated or assigned in curated reference sources as of mid-2025[6][8][9][10].

02

Biological functions

Putative cis-regulatory RNA (potential regulation of the EXOSC10 gene on the opposite strand, as inferred from antisense lncRNAs in general)No experimentally validated molecular functions specific to EXOSC10-AS1 were found in available databases
03

Disease associations

No direct association with diseases is reported for EXOSC10-AS1; its sense gene EXOSC10 is associated with autoimmune diseases such as Diffuse Scleroderma and Polymyositis, but there is no evidence that EXOSC10-AS1 is similarly implicated
