Exportin-1 (XPO1)

Target
XPO1
Molecular classification
Nuclear export receptor, Transporter
01

Overview

Exportin-1 (XPO1), also known as chromosomal region maintenance 1 (CRM1), is a highly conserved eukaryotic nuclear export receptor. It mediates the transport of proteins and RNAs from the nucleus to the cytoplasm, playing a central role in nucleo-cytoplasmic trafficking. It is a therapeutic target, particularly in cancer, and its inhibition can lead to cancer cell death or sensitization to other therapies.
