An "extracellular trap modulator" refers to any molecule, agent, or mechanism that influences the formation, function, or clearance of extracellular traps (ETs). ETs are web-like structures composed primarily of decondensed DNA and associated proteins released by immune cells. These structures play a dual role in host defense and disease pathology.
