EYA4 antisense RNA 2 (EYA4-AS2)

Target
EYA4-AS2
Molecular classification
Long noncoding RNA, Antisense RNA, Not a receptor, channel, or enzyme
01

Overview

EYA4 antisense RNA 2 (EYA4-AS2) is a putative antisense noncoding RNA transcript complementary to the EYA4 gene; however, current genomic databases and the peer-reviewed literature do not substantiate its existence, characterization, or relevance as a therapeutic target. In general, antisense RNAs play regulatory roles in gene expression, chromatin structure, or epigenetic modification. EYA4 itself encodes a transcriptional coactivator and phosphatase, with crucial functions in hearing, cardiac development, DNA repair, apoptosis, and immunity. If EYA4-AS2 were functional, it might be involved in fine-tuning EYA4 gene expression through antisense-mediated processes, but no foundational data is available for this specific entity.
