Overview

F-box and leucine-rich repeat protein 13 (FBXL13) is a member of the F-box protein family, characterized by an approximately 40-amino acid F-box motif involved in protein-protein interactions[2][7]. FBXL13 serves as a substrate-recognition component of the SCF (SKP1-CUL1-F-box protein)-type E3 ubiquitin ligase complex and directly targets proteins such as CEP192 for ubiquitin-mediated proteolysis[1][2]. Functionally, FBXL13 is implicated in centrosome regulation, microtubule nucleation, ciliary/flagellar motility, and cell migration[1][2]. FBXL13 is not currently considered a direct therapeutic target, and there are no approved drugs targeting it. Variants in FBXL13 have been associated with certain rare disorders such as advanced sleep phase syndrome and rumination disorder, but its role in common human diseases remains under investigation[2].
