F-box only protein 46 (FBXO46) is a member of the F-box protein family, defined by the presence of a characteristic F-box motif of approximately 40 amino acids[2][3][8]. FBXO46 functions as the substrate-recognition component of the SCF (SKP1–CUL1–F-box protein) E3 ubiquitin ligase complex, mediating the ubiquitination and proteasomal degradation of specific target proteins[3][4][8]. F-box proteins act by interacting with SKP1 via their F-box domains and with target proteins through other domains. FBXO46 is a protein-coding gene and is expressed in various tissues, but its precise physiological substrates, detailed function, and direct therapeutic relevance have not been well described in the literature[3][5][7][8]. There is currently no evidence for approved drugs, known mechanisms of drug action, or major biomarker or safety concerns for FBXO46.
