Target intelligence / Profile preview
FAM131B antisense RNA 1 (FAM131B-AS1) is a human long non-coding RNA gene located on chromosome 7, transcribed antisense to the nearby FAM131B protein-coding gene[3][1][7][5]. As a lncRNA, it does not encode a protein but may act via regulatory functions, potentially influencing expression of FAM131B or nearby genomic elements[1]. There is currently no evidence that FAM131B-AS1 is directly implicated as a therapeutic target, biomarker, or drug interaction partner, and no clear disease associations or biomarkers have been annotated in major resources[1][5][3]. FAM131B-AS1 is distinct from the related protein-coding gene FAM131B[8], and should not be confused with FAM131B-AS2 or other FAM131B family RNAs[6][1][7].
