FAM174A divergent transcript (FAM174A-DT) is a long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) transcribed from a region near the protein-coding gene FAM174A. These types of divergent transcripts are commonly produced from bidirectional or divergent promoters, leading to the expression of a non-coding RNA in the antisense direction relative to nearby coding genes. Such lncRNAs are typically nuclear and chromatin-associated, functionally linked (either directly or indirectly) to the regulation of their partner gene or local chromatin state. However, there is no evidence that FAM174A-DT functions as a druggable target or is implicated in disease pathways, biomarker status, or therapeutic safety concerns.
