Family with sequence similarity 200 member A (FAM200A) is a protein-coding gene in humans which encodes a protein of unknown function. It is weakly similar to transposase-like proteins in human and mouse, and Gene Ontology (GO) annotations suggest possible nucleic acid binding, but no definitive biological role or molecular mechanism has been established. The protein has no ascribed molecular function, participation in signaling pathways, or clearly defined structural domains that classify it as a receptor, enzyme, transcription factor, or transporter. There are no known drugs, disease-modifying mechanisms, or established roles in patient selection as a biomarker. Disease association data are extremely limited and unvalidated, but a single database lists an association with skin sarcoma[1][6][7].
