Family with sequence similarity 32 member B, pseudogene (FAM32BP) is an annotated human pseudogene. Pseudogenes are DNA sequences similar to functional genes but typically lack protein-coding capacity due to mutations, truncations, or absence of regulatory elements. In contrast, its counterpart FAM32A is a protein-coding gene involved in pre-mRNA processing and apoptosis, and is considered for research in cell cycle regulation and cancer biology[1]. FAM32BP, however, is not known to encode a functional protein, does not act as a receptor, enzyme, transporter, or recognized signaling molecule, and is not a target for any approved or investigational drugs. There is no evidence for direct biological, disease, or therapeutic relevance.
