Target intelligence / Profile preview
Family with sequence similarity 66 member D (FAM66D) is a gene that encodes a long non-coding RNA belonging to the lncRNA class. It is not known to encode a protein product and is not classified as a receptor, enzyme, transporter, or signaling molecule. FAM66D is located on human chromosome 8p23.1 and has been associated with certain diseases such as Inflammatory Bowel Disease 26, although its precise biological role remains to be fully characterized. No drugs or drug mechanisms currently target FAM66D directly. Evidence suggests that lncRNAs of this family may play a role in regulation of gene expression and disease, and they may have potential as biomarkers, but they are not established pharmacological targets at this time[1][2][3][4].
