Farnesyl diphosphate synthase pseudogene 3 (FDPSP3)

Farnesyl diphosphate synthase pseudogene 3 (FDPSP3) is a processed pseudogene that is similar in sequence to the functional gene encoding farnesyl diphosphate synthase (FDPS), but it does not produce a functional protein. As a pseudogene, FDPSP3 does not have known biological activity, disease associations, or roles as a drug target[1][2]. FDPSP3 should not be confused with the functional enzyme farnesyl diphosphate synthase (FDPS), which is an important enzyme target involved in isoprenoid biosynthesis and is therapeutically targeted by bisphosphonate drugs[3][5][7]. Pseudogenes like FDPSP3 are generally not considered therapeutic targets because they do not produce functional proteins[1][2]. There is no evidence for significant biological or therapeutic relevance of FDPSP3 itself.
