Fas ligand (FasL)

Target
FasL
Molecular classification
Type-II transmembrane protein, Tumor necrosis factor (TNF) superfamily
01

Overview

Fas ligand (FasL), also known as CD95L or Apo-1L, is a type-II transmembrane protein that belongs to the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) superfamily. It plays a central role in regulating apoptosis and immune system homeostasis by binding to its receptor Fas and triggering a cascade of events leading to programmed cell death. Dysregulation of FasL is implicated in autoimmune diseases and tumor immune evasion.
