Target intelligence / Profile preview
The fast skeletal muscle troponin complex is a heterotrimeric protein complex essential for the regulation of contraction in fast-twitch (Type II) skeletal muscle fibers. It is composed of three subunits: troponin C (TnC), troponin I (TnI), and troponin T (TnT). Each subunit has a specific role in the calcium-dependent regulation of actomyosin ATPase activity, which underlies muscle contraction.
