Fatty acid binding protein 5 pseudogene 11 (FABP5P11) is a human pseudogene related to the fatty acid binding protein 5 (FABP5) gene family. Pseudogenes are genomic DNA sequences similar to normal genes but are typically nonfunctional due to mutations, insertions, or deletions that prevent transcription or translation into a functional protein. There is no evidence that FABP5P11 encodes a protein, possesses biological function, or serves as a therapeutic target.
