FBL pseudogene 1 (FBLP1)

FBL pseudogene 1 (FBLP1) is a human pseudogene formally named by the HUGO Gene Nomenclature Committee (HGNC). Pseudogenes are DNA sequences that resemble functional genes but typically lack coding potential due to sequence mutations, deletions, or interruptions. FBLP1 is annotated as a non-functional copy derived from the FBL gene, which encodes the nucleolar protein fibrillarin. Unlike FBL, FBLP1 does not produce protein and is not implicated in any known biological pathways, disease roles, or therapeutic contexts[2][4][5].
