FBN1 divergent transcript (FBN1-DT) is a long noncoding RNA gene transcribed in the FBN1 genomic region but distinct from the protein-coding FBN1 gene responsible for fibrillin-1 production[7]. Unlike FBN1, which is well studied for its role in connective tissue diseases such as Marfan syndrome[1][3][5], FBN1-DT does not code for a protein and its biological function, expression profile, regulatory interactions, and relevance to human disease are currently uncharacterized in the literature. There is no evidence suggesting it is a therapeutic target, and it should not be confused with FBN1 itself.
