Overview
FBXL12 pseudogene 1 (FBXL12P1) is a noncoding genomic locus that shares sequence similarity with FBXL12 but does not encode a functional protein. There is no evidence that FBXL12P1 has a biological role or serves as a therapeutic target. All available evidence, including gene databases and published literature, concerns the protein-coding gene FBXL12, which is a component of the SCF E3 ubiquitin ligase complex and regulates cell cycle and protein degradation. FBXL12 has been implicated in cancer cell survival, DNA replication stress response, and regulation of DNA repair factors, but these functions do not map to the pseudogene FBXL12P1.
