Overview
The Fc fragment (crystallizable fragment) of immunoglobulin G (IgG) is the constant region of the antibody that interacts with cell surface receptors and complement proteins, mediating immune effector functions. When tumor-targeting monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) bind to their specific antigens on cancer cells, their Fc regions become accessible for interactions with various immune components. The Fc region plays a critical role in recruiting innate immunity to eliminate tumor cells.
