Target intelligence / Profile preview
Fc gamma receptor 1C, pseudogene (FCGR1CP, FCGR1C), is a member of the immunoglobulin gamma Fc receptor gene family clustered on chromosome 1. Unlike the functional Fc gamma receptor 1A protein (CD64), which is a high-affinity receptor for the Fc region of IgG, FCGR1C is considered a pseudogene because it lacks the transmembrane and coiled-coil domains required for full receptor function. It is not believed to encode a functional cell surface receptor and is thought to have resulted from gene duplication of FCGR1A. Any biological role, if present, is poorly characterized, and there is no evidence that it is a validated or actionable therapeutic target.
