CD64 (FcγRI) is a high-affinity receptor for the Fc region of IgG antibodies, constitutively expressed on monocytes and macrophages and inducible on neutrophils and eosinophils by cytokines. It plays a crucial role in linking antibody recognition to cellular responses, including phagocytosis, antigen presentation, ADCC, and cytokine production. It is therapeutically targeted in some cancer models due to its role in ADCC against tumor cells when engaged by therapeutic antibodies. Expression levels can be modulated by inflammatory cytokines.
