Overview

Fc gamma receptor IIA (FcγRIIa), also known as CD32a, is a cell surface receptor that binds the Fc portion of IgG antibodies. It plays a crucial role in linking humoral immunity to cell-mediated effector functions, mediating antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC), antibody-dependent cellular phagocytosis (ADCP), and triggering the release of inflammatory mediators. The His131/Arg131 polymorphism affects binding affinity for different human IgG subclasses, influencing susceptibility to infections and autoimmune diseases, as well as clinical outcomes following therapeutic monoclonal antibody treatment.
