Fc gamma receptor type I (CD64) is a high-affinity cell surface receptor for the Fc region of IgG. It is expressed on monocytes, macrophages, and dendritic cells, and can be induced on neutrophils and eosinophils by cytokines like IFNγ. CD64 mediates phagocytosis, antigen presentation, cytokine production, ADCC, and clearance of immune complexes. It plays a role in both innate and adaptive immunity and is implicated in autoimmune disorders, neuropathies, and tumor immunity. Targeted therapies are being explored for chronic inflammatory diseases and antitumor responses.
Targeting CD64 aims to modulate macrophage-mediated immune responses, such as inhibiting phagocytosis or promoting ADCC.
