Overview

FCRL4 pseudogene 1 (FCRL4P1) is a pseudogene found within the Fc receptor-like (FCRL) gene cluster, located between the FCRL3 and FCRL4 loci. Unlike its neighboring genes, FCRL4P1 does not encode a functional protein or receptor. It consists of five exons and shares transcriptional orientation with the functional FCRL genes but lacks evidence for any biological function or involvement in immune signaling. It has been alternatively referred to as FcRH4ψ and IFGPx in earlier literature[1]. The presence of FCRL4P1 is noted in genomic studies of the FCRL family, but it is not regarded as a therapeutic target, receptor, or molecular biomarker[1]. FCRL4P1 is a pseudogene, not a protein-coding gene or functional receptor[1]. There is no evidence for any protein product, biological activity, or therapeutic targeting. It is not studied in disease, has no known biomarkers or drug interactions, and does not participate in canonical immune functions. There is nothing inherently wrong with the spelling or naming (FCRL4P1), but requesting therapeutic target information is inappropriate for a pseudogene, making the entry is_incorrect: true for most structured drug discovery contexts.
