Overview

Ferredoxin-fold anticodon-binding domain-containing protein 1 (FDXACB1) is a human protein encoded by the FDXACB1 gene on chromosome 11. It contains a ferredoxin-like domain associated with anticodon binding, found in subsets of phenylalanyl tRNA synthetases, enzymes important for charging tRNAs during protein synthesis. The specific biological role of FDXACB1 in humans remains unclear, but it is suggested to participate in some aspect of RNA modification, such as rRNA methylation, based on sequence homology and predictions. There are currently no drugs or major disease associations for this protein, and it is not used as a therapeutic or diagnostic target.
