There are no drugs or mechanisms of action associated with FTLP8 because pseudogenes do not typically produce proteins for targeted intervention[2][4]. To clarify, the functional ferritin light chain gene (FTL) does play important roles in iron storage, cellular iron homeostasis, and has been associated with neurodegenerative diseases and other conditions—but FTLP8, being a pseudogene, does not share these roles[1][3][5].
