FHF complex subunit HOOK-interacting protein 1A (FHIP1A) is a protein coding gene involved in protein localization to the perinuclear region of the cytoplasm. It is a probable component of the FTS/Hook/FHIP (FHF) complex, which promotes the distribution of the adaptor protein complex AP-4 within the cell, possibly regulating vesicle trafficking and/or fusion through interactions with homotypic vesicular protein sorting complexes such as HOPS. FHIP1A has been genetically associated with conditions such as familial hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and mucinous lung adenocarcinoma, but is not a recognized therapeutic target, receptor, enzyme, transporter, or transcription factor. There are no known drugs, biomarker applications, or safety issues related to this molecule.
