Target intelligence / Profile preview
Fibroblast growth factors (FGFs) are a family of polypeptide growth factors that regulate cellular processes such as proliferation, differentiation, migration, morphogenesis, and patterning. In humans, there are 18 secreted FGF ligands that interact with four main fibroblast growth factor receptors (FGFRs).
FGF ligands bind to FGFRs, inducing receptor dimerization and autophosphorylation, activating downstream signaling pathways like RAS-MAPK, PI3K-AKT, PLCγ, and STAT.
