Fibroblast growth factor receptor 1 (FGFR1) is a cell-surface receptor tyrosine kinase that plays a central role in regulating key biological processes, including cell division, growth, differentiation, migration, survival, angiogenesis, wound healing, and embryonic development. It mediates cellular responses to extracellular signals by binding specific members of the FGF family, triggering downstream signaling cascades involved in cell proliferation, differentiation, migration, survival, angiogenesis, and embryonic development. Aberrant activation of FGFR1 can drive tumorigenesis, making it a target for small-molecule inhibitors targeting the tyrosine kinase activity.
