Target
FGFR2
Molecular classification

Overview

Fibroblast Growth Factor Receptor 2 (FGFR2), also known as CD332, is a receptor tyrosine kinase encoded by the FGFR2 gene on human chromosome 10. It is a member of the fibroblast growth factor receptor family, which plays critical roles in embryonic development, tissue repair, and cellular signaling. Upon FGF binding, FGFR2 dimerizes, activating its tyrosine kinase activity and initiating downstream signaling pathways like MAPK/ERK, PI3K-AKT, PLCγ, and STAT. Aberrant expression or mutations in FGFR2 are associated with congenital disorders and cancer.
