Fibroblast Growth Factor Receptor 3c (FGFR3c)

Target
FGFR3c
Molecular classification
Receptor, Tyrosine Kinase Receptor, Transmembrane protein
01

Overview

Fibroblast growth factor receptor 3c (FGFR3c) is an isoform of the FGFR3 protein, a receptor tyrosine kinase that regulates cell proliferation, differentiation, and development. It is predominantly expressed in mesenchymal tissues and has distinct FGF ligand affinities. Mutations or overexpression of FGFR3, including FGFR3c, are implicated in skeletal disorders and cancer, making it a therapeutic target. Upon activation, FGFR3c triggers intracellular signaling cascades like Ras/MAPK/ERK, PI(3)K/Akt, and PLCγ/PKC pathways.

Other names
CD333FGFR3
02

Mechanism of action

Upon ligand binding, FGFR3c dimerizes, activates its tyrosine kinase activity, and phosphorylates downstream targets, activating the Ras/MAPK/ERK, PI(3)K/Akt, and PLCγ/PKC pathways, influencing gene expression related to growth and development.
