Target intelligence / Profile preview
FKBP prolyl isomerase 1A pseudogene 3 (FKBP1AP3) is a pseudogene related by sequence to FKBP1A, a member of the FK506-binding protein (FKBP) family that encodes for prolyl isomerases involved in protein folding and immunoregulation[1][7]. Pseudogenes like FKBP1AP3 do not produce functional proteins; they arise from gene duplication or retrotransposition events followed by the accumulation of mutations that prevent normal gene expression[1][5]. While there is mounting evidence that some pseudogenes may participate in gene expression regulation through RNA-mediated mechanisms[2], there are no data to suggest that FKBP1AP3 has any direct biological function or disease association. It is not a recognized therapeutic target and has no reported drug interactions or biomarker roles.
