FKBP prolyl isomerase 4 pseudogene 6 (FKBP4P6) is a non-protein-coding pseudogene in the human genome, highly homologous to the protein-coding FKBP4 gene, but it does not produce a functional protein. FKBP4P6 and its close pseudogene relatives (FKBP4P4, FKBP4P5) are not known to be transcriptionally active, have no demonstrated biological function, and are not involved as therapeutic targets in any diseases. They exist as part of genomic evolution and do not encode receptors, enzymes, or any active drug target class. FKBP4P6 is not the same as FKBP4 (FKBP52), which is a functional protein involved in immunoregulation, steroid receptor trafficking, and protein folding. Pseudogenes like FKBP4P6 do not produce protein products and generally lack biological function, unless otherwise proven, none of which are reported for FKBP4P6. No disease relevance, interacting drugs, or biomarker status is associated with FKBP4P6. Any entry suggesting FKBP4P6 is a druggable target or functional receptor/enzyme transporter would be incorrect.
