Flavin containing dimethylaniline monoxygenase 11, pseudogene (FMO11P), is a member of the flavin-containing monooxygenase family but is classified as a pseudogene in humans[6][3][1]. Pseudogenes are gene sequences that resemble known genes but are rendered non-functional due to mutations or disruptions in their sequence, so FMO11P does not encode a functional protein, nor does it contribute to metabolism, cellular function, or disease. Other members of the flavin-containing monooxygenase family are enzymes involved in the oxidative metabolism of drugs and xenobiotics[2][7][9], but FMO11P itself has no known biological role, disease association, or relevance as a drug target[6][3][1].
