Target intelligence / Profile preview
FLT3 (fms-like tyrosine kinase 3) is a receptor tyrosine kinase that plays a crucial role in the regulation of hematopoiesis. It is expressed on hematopoietic progenitor cells and is essential for their proliferation, differentiation, and survival. Mutations or overexpression of FLT3 are frequently observed in acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and are associated with poor prognosis. FLT3 is a validated target for small molecule inhibitors, which are used clinically to treat AML patients harboring activating mutations.
