Overview

FLYWCH1 antisense RNA 1 (FLYWCH1-AS1) is a long non-coding RNA gene located on the antisense strand of the genomic locus encoding the FLYWCH1 protein[4]. The FLYWCH1-AS1 gene is catalogued in major genomic databases, but currently lacks a well-documented biological role, functional annotation, or disease association. Unlike the protein-coding FLYWCH1 gene, which is implicated in transcriptional regulation, cell adhesion, Wnt signaling modulation, and DNA damage response[1][2], FLYWCH1-AS1 has not yet been established as a modulator of these pathways or as a direct therapeutic target. There are no known drugs targeting FLYWCH1-AS1, nor is it used as a clinical biomarker or subject to therapeutic safety concerns at this time[4].
