Overview

FMNL1-DT is a lncRNA gene, also known as the FMNL1 divergent transcript or CTD-2020K17.1. Unlike its protein-coding counterpart (FMNL1, formin-like protein 1), FMNL1-DT does not encode a protein. It is classified as a long non-coding RNA and, as of current knowledge, there is no evidence that FMNL1-DT functions as a validated therapeutic target, nor is it established to play a direct role in disease, to serve as a biomarker, or to interact with drugs. It is listed in genomic resources as a presumed lncRNA locus with limited functional characterization available[3]. Some confusion may arise because the similarly-named FMNL1 (formin-like protein 1) is a well-characterized actin regulator with roles in cancer and cell migration[1][2][4]. FMNL1 is a protein-coding gene and bona fide therapeutic target, but FMNL1-DT is not. FMNL1-DT does not appear in major therapeutic or pharmacological target sets and is not referenced in the context of drug interaction or clinical manipulation.
