Target intelligence / Profile preview
Fms-like tyrosine kinase receptor 4 (FLT4), also known as VEGFR-3, is a receptor tyrosine kinase critical for lymphangiogenesis. It binds primarily to VEGF-C and VEGF-D and plays a key role in lymphatic vessel development and maintenance. It is implicated in diseases related to abnormal lymphangiogenesis, including lymphedema and tumor metastasis, making it a potential therapeutic target.
Ligand binding induces dimerization, activating the intracellular tyrosine kinase domain via autophosphorylation, initiating downstream signaling pathways.
