Overview
Follicular dendritic cell secreted protein (FDCSP) is a small protein secreted by follicular dendritic cells, primarily found in germinal centers of secondary lymphoid organs such as tonsils and lymph nodes. It specifically binds activated B cells and regulates antibody responses and germinal center formation, acting as a secreted immune modulator. FDCSP is thought to enhance B cell migration, particularly in concert with chemokines, and may play a role in cancer metastasis by supporting the migration and invasion of cancer cells. FDCSP has high tissue expression in the tonsil, lymph node, and prostate. There are no approved drugs that target FDCSP, and its clinical application remains limited to research contexts.
