Target intelligence / Profile preview
Follicular helper T cells (Tfh cells) are a specialized subset of CD4+ T cells that are essential for the formation of germinal centers and the generation of high-affinity antibody responses. They provide help to B cells to promote affinity maturation, class switch recombination, and the development of memory B cells. Tfh cells are distinguished by the expression of CXCR5, PD-1, BCL6, and ICOS, and are critical for effective humoral immune responses following infection or vaccination. The function and differentiation of Tfh cells play central roles in immunity, but their dysregulation is also implicated in autoimmune disease and improper antibody production[1][2][3][4][5].
