Forkhead box protein D4-like 3 (FOXD4L3)

Forkhead box protein D4-like 3 (FOXD4L3) is a protein-coding transcription factor belonging to the forkhead/winged-helix family, implicated in the regulation of gene expression via sequence-specific DNA binding, especially as it relates to RNA polymerase II activity. It is predicted to function in processes such as anatomical structure morphogenesis and cell differentiation. FOXD4L3 has been associated with the genetic disease retinitis pigmentosa 55, but is not commonly considered a direct therapeutic target or linked to any approved drugs[1][2][6][7][8].
