Forkhead box protein O4 (FOXO4) is a transcription factor that belongs to the forkhead family. It regulates gene expression by binding to specific DNA sequences and is modulated by post-translational modifications. FOXO4 plays key roles in oxidative stress response, longevity pathways, insulin signaling, cell cycle progression, apoptosis, and DNA repair. It is involved in various biological processes, including insulin receptor signaling, DNA damage checkpoint signaling, and muscle organ development.
