Overview

Formiminotransferase cyclodeaminase N-terminal like (FTCDNL1) is a protein-coding gene in humans with strong sequence similarity to the N-terminal domain of formiminotransferase-cyclodeaminase enzymes, but its specific biological function in humans is not well defined[4][7]. It is predicted to enable folic acid binding and transferase activity and belongs to the SPATS2 protein family[3][4]. FTCDNL1 is distinct from FTCD (formimidoyltransferase-cyclodeaminase), which is an established metabolic enzyme involved in amino acid and folate metabolism[1][2]. While FTCDNL1 is annotated in public databases and has several sequence aliases, it is not a well-characterized enzyme, receptor, transporter, or canonical therapeutic target in current biomedical literature and does not yet have an established role in human disease or pharmacology[3][4][9].
